Baby girl was getting better... We were out of the high temperatures, but then we realized her temperature readings were extremely low (she's had a cooler temperature since she was born, but these were way low!) After talking to the doctor in the middle of the night (soooo happy with our pediatrician!), we decided that since the temp was low (one reading had her at 94.7) and she hadn't had as many wet diapers that we should take her in just in case. We were a little worried about dehydration.
So at 1 a.m. we loaded up our sleeping baby and headed towards the children's hospital. There, her temp was reading in the 96s and 97s. She seemed fine. They checked her over. We were able to EC her so she wouldn't have to have a catheter for the urine sample. The urine was clear and they weren't concerned about how she was doing so we headed home around 3:30 a.m.
We are hoping she feels better soon. Yesterday, she slept a lot more than usual and was still a bit more fussy. Her temp reading was low again midday and after calling the doctor (who gave up some of her lunch break to talk with me) we decided I'd bring her in for a quick check. All was fine and now we are just waiting for this last part of whatever it is to pass. (We originally thought it was from the vaccines, but now we aren't so confident. It isn't bacterial. It could be a virus. Whatever it is, I hope it's gone SOON!)
Being parents is so stressful. Of course, worth it, but loving a little person this much just hurts sometimes - especially when they are sick.
