Another Kentile Floors Rainy Day Photo

a rainy morning

the other morning was not only rainy, but it was storming. real lightning and thunder. my students were frightened and shocked to hear and see the lightning during their morning commute. to me, it was just a reminder of life back home!

i love taking photos of the kentile floors sign from the f and g trains. i actually have two other photos of this same sign... one of the morning sunrise and one in the fog. the photo above was taken mid-afternoon on the first day of 2012. the sun case a perfect soft light across the city as it headed down. 

waiting room

Kendra gave me an iPhonography book about iPhone photos for Christmas. It's inspired me to get back to using my photo to see again. I am often taking photos with my phone, but using some cool aps and being more purposeful, I'd like to try take more artsy photos.

I joined a friend for a bit of shopping (her shopping and me taking photos with my iphone dreaming about shopping) at Anthropologie the other day. Here are a few of the fun photos I took. I absolutely love how amazing that place is! Their displays, clothes, and home decorations are all so wonderful! I wish I worked there!!

finding beautiful

i needed to find something beautiful in my day after the monday i had.

it's really sad that i work in such a place where people are so miserable, where all people look for is to cut you down and make you as sad as they are.
i will not be taken.
i will not let me day go without finding beautiful in something.
today.

it was union square and the nice warm, almost spring weather.
it was the second iced chai latte of the new warmer season to come.

it was walking between those tall new york city buildings falling in love even more with this place i live in.

it was seeing the empire state building in the sunlight with the bright blue sky background.

it was new supplies for staples.

it was the creative, inspiring, unique, different, amazing people that i wonder the streets with, the ones i'll never know but move me in such a way i cannot even begin to thank them.

it was finding this window.

i will find beautiful, even if someone tries to keep it from me.

PS: notice the blue theme -- it's monday blues for the week of colors in the group for the love of color. isn't it fun?? tomorrow is purple... ooo and for the original post (and some of you may see this twice if you follow my photo a day blog, go here. it was only one photo... but i just took photo sixty-seven... can't believe it's been sixty-seven days straight of photos!)
