Baby Uses Toilet

Sofia peed in the toilet today!! Immediately after her nap I took off her bottoms and held her over the toilet and cued her (even though I don't necessarily think she knows the cues yet... We just started giving them on Saturday). A few moments later, she peed!

We still have so much more to learn about Elimination Communication (ECing)... But I was excited to 'catch' something today! :)

And of course, I have to send a quick thanks to my sister-in-law, Jac! Without her sharing about ECing with Z, I probably wouldn't even know ECing existed ;) She's definitely helped me be a more informed parent!! We feel so lucky to have Seth's brother and sister-in-law helping us in so many ways!

I've been sharing Sofia's morning faces on instagram, but thought I'd share here as well for those that don't see these! She makes so many faces... Wish my phone camera was a bit quicker at catching more, but these are still pretty cute!

Someone is starting to change a little lately. Sofia's started hanging out and taking in the world. At some of our recent mama get-togethers she's chilled on my lap (without being bounced!) or laid on the foor looking around. These photos are of her on the floor play mat with another adorable baby. 

Guess Who Came to Visit!!

GRANDPA!!!

We were so lucky to have a visit from my dad yesterday! He was in Seattle for work and despite running on low sleep, he drove down to Portland for dinner with us. Sofia was a little bit of a crank pot, but she did give Grandpa a few snuggles and some smiles (after Mama stripped her down so she'd show the real smiles from her favorite -- naked baby time!)

Now we think it's only fair that Grandpa sends Grandma down to visit next ;) Just let us know when your flight is Grandma and we'll be at the airport to pick you up! Love Sofia

Smile at the Baby

Ok. Sorry for the blog post overload. Baby's taking a nap and giving mama a moment (you are so sweet Sofia) (Sorry Seth the dishes and the laundry are NOT getting done right now...)

Had to post this video. The other night I discovered Sofia's love for her reflection. She was being a little fuss bucket, so on our (two hundredth) tour of the house, we stopped by the mirror. Turns out, she was pretty happy with that baby in the reflection! She was smiling and making a noise that she hadn't really made before seeing herself in the reflection! It was FREAKING adorable! Mirror baby doesn't ALWAYS bring on a smile, but when it does, that smile sure does rock. Seth was able to capture a bit of it on video the other morning.

This might be one of my favorite photos with Sofia - he he - even if she is crying! Maybe it's because I think she's adorable when she cries (but despite her looking adorable when she cries, I don't let her cry to much... oy pulls on my heart strings! ;)

Sofia's First Christmas

I know there are 1,000 pictures of about 2 different moments. I realized when I get the chance to snap a few photos, I go crazy and snap about 27 million in a few moments because I don't know how long I'll have to take photos before Miss Sofia is needing me again ;) So all these photos are from about 5 minutes of Christmas, so I guess it's just a peak! We had a great holiday. It started with Christmas Eve dinner made by Jac. Then Christmas morning was a delicious breakfast, again made by Jac. I spent the afternoon making dinner (surprised it happened with the baby, but she napped great and I had some help plus simple recipes!) We did some video chats with family that we couldn't be with, and even a massive video chat with most of Seth's siblings in a google hangout (So Freaking Cool!) Sofia got some  love through presents from her family. Clothes and toys and books!
