When we moved to 5th Avenue, we often get together with friends at a local bar called Lighthouse. Bar food was good, the back patio was nice, atmosphere was comfortable. Then, sadly, they closed down sometime last fall/winter. We'd heard another bar was going in, but there seemed to be nothing going on with the place... until a couple months ago when I wondered by one day to see construction and remodeling taking place!

The new bar, High Dive, has been open a week. Last night, Seth and I met up for Happy Hour and were joined by some of our friends later. I Love the new make-over. Its new look is retro. The kitchen is gone so there is more space and more tables. There are no TVs or games... so it's a social bar, my favorite! And my favorite part was the bathroom. Nothing too impressive and really not much of a change from what it was before. But now, instead of having a few pictures of lighthouses on the walls, there are Chalkboards!!! A chance for words of wisdom to be shared, erased, and recreated the next visit!
