Reviewing the List

Mrs. E posted a review of her birthday list the other day and inspired me to look at mine again. I've been meaning to, and now I'm finally getting the motivation/time... I've got 5 months to go...

1. Write letters more. -- uhhh kind of dropped the ball on this the last two months. maybe seeing family this weekend will help motivate me again.

2. Write a song with Seth. (I'm on the words and bongo drums, he's on the notes and vocals and guitar.) -- still collecting words, but have realized how hard this actually is...

3. Sell photo prints. -- i have a whole collection of prints that i need to add to my photo shop, ready to sell.

4. Do at least 4 photo projects throughout the year. -- blur photos (haven't added any lately), strangers, 365 iphone photos, metropolitan magic/country charm... now i just need to keep them up :)

5. Photograph people... families, children, lovers, friends... -- engagement session, family photos, a wedding coming up, a maternity session, and hopefully a few other portrait sessions with some friends soon... next, take portraits of people in nyc...

6. Take a photography class. -- hmmm... not sure when this will happen.

7. Write Everyday. (I stocked up on a variety of notebooks from a great paper store I found in Estes Park over our trip last week.) -- most days, in some form, but need to work a little more deliberately towards this one.

8. Participate in hope revolution. -- printed notes, just need to put them in my wallet to carry and share.

9. Do something artistic/creative... painting... drawing... -- yes, now do it more often.

10. Meet up with other photographers in NYC. -- not yet :(

11. Walk across the Manhattan Bridge. -- not yet. it's so loud with subways, i always change my mind at the last minute. will do it though. when it's warmer.

12. Have an Artist's Date every 2 weeks. (I know it's supposed to be every week, but during parts of the year, my life is too hectic to make a full-on commitment.) -- i've been trying to, sometimes i've even squeezed them in once a week.

13. Inspire. -- maybe so....

14. Visit Boston. -- hmm... haven't yet.

15. Learn to embroider. -- my grandmas are going to help me take this one off my list this weekend hopefully, or at least get me started :)

16. Crochet more. -- i did take the box off the shelf.

17. Meet a blogging friend. -- done! met ms. b in central park last fall.

18. Get a vintage camera (TTV... Polaroid...) -- done! polaroid from a stoop sale for a couple $.

19. Understand my DSLR and its settings. -- continuing to learn, but have definitely learned a lot (with some thanks to sherese, who has shared the settings she uses in certain situations).

20. Do Yoga. -- a little. for a short time. need to get that back in my schedule. my thoughts are when it warms up. i'm realizing i am a bit of a hibernator in the winter cold.

21. Just Be... everyday (breath. think. don't think. relax. be calm. don't stress.) -- try to. still working on this.

22. Finish and share my photography website. -- did... then decided i'm wanting to change it. hopefully there will be a new and improved one eventually.

23. Visit a museum or art exhibit at least once a month! -- almost. could work a bit more deliberately on this.

24. See the sun shining. -- still a work in progress :)

I'm a hibernator, too, come these snowy snowy NY days...
...don't overwhelm yourself.

Do what you can, when you can, and know you're BLOG's doing the rest. ;)

Girl, sounds like your gonna be busy. Great list, lots of positive and interesting stuff. Many of them are on mine, or, well, uh, if I had a list, they'd be on it.
Wondering how your making out with the storm as I sit at anchor off Yonkers in the snow, looking down river toward Manhattan

um, will you still be excited if we ever get to meet even though you've already met mrs. e?

you need to visit chicago so we can meet. if i ever get a real job and work there long enough to accumulate vacation time, n.y.c is one of the places i want to go. so you can bet i'll be looking you up. and asking if you want to go take some pics of the city.
